Webinar: Capacity Planning and Power Management of Data Centers | Date: April 6, 2021

We are presenting a system modeling approach that supports the capacity planning of Data Centers and a quantitative assessment of their energy efficiency. The aim of this modeling approach is to ensure the requirements are analyzed prior to integration to accurately predict the capacity and power. The cornerstone of our approach is the VisualSim modeling and simulation platform, which captures the heterogeneous structure of the DCs, the hardware and software characteristics, and constraints. The webinar will guide the sizing of servers, storage, communication link, and eliminate the risk of over-or under-provisioning. The solution to assign applications to virtual machines and OS instances will be discussed based on the creation of a large-scale Server Farm prototype prior to deployment. The webinar will also provide an estimate of the number of application software licenses required and help lower capital costs, reduce energy costs and build capacity where necessary.

Host

Mr. Deepak Shankar has over 25 years of system modeling experience and has worked on over 250 product designs ranging from multi-processor systems and 300 node networks to x86 or PowerPC processors.

Key Points

This Webinar will

1.How dynamic simulation can replace traditional network simulations that are slow and lack configuration and visibility to analyse performance. 2.How to avoid over or under design, cost increases, and delays. 3.How an architectural model can be used to test the capacity and power requirements of your data center or your server.
