Mirabilis Design provides system-level intellectual property for architecture exploration and analysis. This is carried out using a high performance simulation platform allowing users to rapidly study the performance, power and functionality of semiconductors, embedded systems and the software.
Using the Mirabilis Design environment, companies can eliminate all surprises before they begin the development and the integration. Our customers range from very large semiconductor companies to start-ups that are involved in AI SoCs; large defense contractors building radars and flight avionics, and automotive companies carrying out autonomous driving.
Customer Objectives
The main objectives of all our customers before commencing development, are:
- Ensuring no bottlenecks
- Systems are sized correctly
- All software is partitioned across all available resources
The complexity of today’s processors calls for this approach. The system-on-chip is truly a system by itself. If we consider AI SoCs, autonomous chips, radar chips and avionics chips, they are much more than just processing units. They have accelerators, interfaces and DMAs, in addition to many different functionalities.
If we consider a situation where we have forty or fifty different interfaces, which need to be verified. If these are put on a Palladium box or onto an FPGA board, we would not know if we are getting all the sensor data on these interfaces coming in at the appropriate time, and at the appropriate sizes.
Benefits
Only a system overview model can provide this information. This approach provides tangible results. Based on our customer feedback, we have seen two things that happen: one is that our customers are able to reduce the time it takes for development because they decrease the number of repeats and the number of bugs that they would find in implementation. Secondly, they get a highly optimized product.
