STK Interface Library

VisualSim can be used to analyze a variety of products extending from large aircrafts to semiconductors. VisualSim provides facilities to the user to interface the Satellite Tool Kit (STK) using STK blocks. These blocks allow the VisualSim model to interface with STK, allowing information generated in the STK for use in the VisualSim model. Typical Information requested includes charge state, Solar Flux, and geographical position relating to the satellite. This document provides details as to how to create VisualSim models that access STK.

Satellite Tool-Kit Overview

STK is the leading Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) analysis and visualization software that supports aerospace, defense, and intelligence initiatives. STK makes it easy to analyze complex land, sea, air, and space scenarios. It determines optimal solutions with the ability to present results in graphical and text formats for easy interpretation and analysis. It is used by thousands of professionals world wide to support all phases of a satellite system's life cycle, including: policy, concept, requirements, development, testing, and deployment. The launch window project makes use of the Astrogator module and allows the user to create complex mission control sequences for nearly any orbit. The Connect module, gives STK the capability to receive commands from external programs such as Mat lab, VisualSim, and so on.

There are two STK blocks.

The STK_Port block and the STK_Intf block:
